How do I know what information has been updated in my Favourites Lists when I receive an email notification?
The first thing you need to know about the Favourites List notifications is that the new information is in red. You can choose how much information should be highlighted in red by altering the ‘highlight weeks’ field in the Search Preferences screen. If you choose 1 week, only the information updated within the last 7 days will appear in red. The red highlighting is only governed by the highlight weeks option – it does not take into account when you last received an update, which means that if you receive a second notification email within a week, it will not turn the information you have already seen back to black. If you are tracking a fast moving project, you could receive several update notification emails in a week. The recent information will remain red according to your highlight weeks preferences.

How can I get technical support?
Please email eicdatastream@eic-uk.com or phone 020 7091 8600.
Can I change the 40 minute timeout feature?
User sessions last for 40 minutes from the last time the server and the client computers communicate. If your counter is running low, either press refresh on your browser or navigate to a different page. Some pages are cached locally on your computer, so your computer might not be communicating with the server even though you are clicking on different items on a page. If this happens, please refresh your page in the browser.

I want to find out about projects that are being engineered out of the UK. How do I do that?
It is not currently possible to run a search to find out which projects are being run out of a particular office. It was not possible to record this information on the previous projects database. This has meant starting from scratch since the launch of EICDataStream. There are over 7000 active and future projects currently being tracked, which means that there is a large body of remedial work that is necessary to populate results for a Contractor Office search feature. Where we have the information it is recorded on the project detail pages. If you would like to pass your opinions about the potential Contractor Office search filter to us, please email eicdatastream@eic-uk.com.

Where can I find Market Forum reports?
The way that the EIC offers some reports has changed. With over 7000 projects on the system they can no longer be provided in a user-friendly list. This is now something that each member can perform separately and give a much more bespoke report. Please see the 'How do I create a PDF report?' FAQ.
How do I create a PDF report?
Navigate to the 'Criteria Search' page: www.the-eic.com/eic/projects/search.aspx For instance; if you want to search for the kinds of projects you would have found in the subsea report in the market forums section of the old Projects Database you can choose the various scopes within the Upstream Category. To select more than one you can click and hold down the ctrl key. This is the best way to familiarise yourself with the system and search for the relevant projects you want to start tracking/reporting on. Once you have done this and have a set of results that are relevant, click on the reporting icon and you will see a new menu. Format – Detail will give you all the project information, Summary will give you what you see in the Search Results page (i.e. the page you are on) Projects: You can select all the projects in your result set or just selected ones – use the tick boxes at the beginning of each row to select certain projects. File Name/Title/Description – enter in a title and description Content – enter in how months of project notes you want to see Sorting – you can sort by Country and Operator, the default is project name Click ‘Send Request’ and the system crates the report and then sends you an e-mail when it is ready. The report is in PDF format.

Introduction to Favourites Lists
How have Favourites lists changed?
Favourites Lists operate in the same way as in the previous Projects Database with the following improvements:
Favourites Lists are no longer permanently deleted.
In the previous Projects Database it is only possible for email notifications to be sent to a single email address. DataStream allows the delivery of email notifications to all of your colleagues by simply ticking the ‘Enable Delivery’ tick box. Please see the How To for ‘Manage Email Notifications for your Favourites Lists’ and ‘Enable the delivery of email notifications to colleagues’.
You can control who is able to access your Favourites List. There are 4 levels of access including the ability to make your Favourites Lists invisible to anyone else. Please see the ‘What do the Stars mean’ FAQ for definitions of the levels of permission for Favourites Lists.
Will my current Favourites Lists transfer into the new website?
Yes. All Favourites Lists that you used in the previous version of the Projects Database will be available in the same way as before. To alter the permissions levels to govern who is able to access your Favourites Lists please see the ‘Manage who can access your Favourites Lists How to’
What do the Stars mean on the ‘Set Share Permissions for Favourite List’ page?
The stars denote the level of permission for the people who have access to the Favourites List.
1 star indicates a ‘Reader’ level of permission, which allows them to see that your List exists and allows them to see the projects in it, as well as receive email notifications whenever any of the projects in your Favourites List are updated. 2 stars indicates a ‘User’ level of permission, which builds on ‘Reader’ access by allowing them to add and remove projects from your Favourites List. 3 stars indicates an ‘Owner’ level of permission. This is the highest level of access which allows colleagues that you choose to have complete access rights over the Favourites List, including the ability to delete the list.
